The Kerala government banned the manufacture, sale, storage and transportation of single-use plastic.

The rules ban the use of single-use plastic products such as paper cups, plates, and plastic-coated cups for the distribution of food and drinks. Instead, washable utensils made of steel, glass, and ceramic materials should be used.
